Egypt won gold medal and came in first place in the Modern Pentathlon World Championship which was held in Russia.

A few months before the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro kickoff, Egyptian pentathletes Yasser Hefny and brothers Amr and Omar El Geziry managed to score 4473 points for Egypt, while Russian athletes scored 3300 points and France came in third place with 2996 points.

Individually, Amr El Geziry was ranked fourth in the championship, Hefny in fifth place and Omar El Geizry sixth.

“The Egyptian athletes also gave a great performance but in the end, you have to be strong in the laser shooting. You have to perform well,” President of UIPM, Dr Klaus Schormann said to (UIPM) the Union International de Pentathlon Moderne official website.

This is the first international championship for the Egyptian modern pentathlon team.
