Abou-Treika compares Dimitri Payet to Zidane, Platini

Egyptian legend Mohamed Abou-Treika took to Twitter to compare France’s Dimitri Payet with French greats Zinedine Zidane and Michel Platini.

Dimitri Payet has continued his remarkable form from his debut season with English club West Ham United with the France national team at the ongoing UEFA EURO 2016.

Payet scored a last minute stunner in the opening match against Romania that ended 2-1 and another marvelous goal in the late minutes of the match against Albania.

Retired Egyptian football star Mohamed Abou-Treika has been obviously impressed, as he likened the French playmaker to French legends Zinedine Zidane and Michel Platini.

Treika tweeted: “Platini 1984, Zidane 1998 and Payet 2016. Talent repeats itself. Maybe France aren’t on top of their game but they’re presenting a talent worth watching.”

This is obviously not the first time Payet has been compared to Zidane, as West Ham fans have been chanting it all season.

Youssef Wael is a massive Al Ahly and Manchester United supporter from Cairo, Egypt. One of the few Egyptians who never really wanted to have a career in football, just played it as a hobby. Wael also played squash for 7 years.
