Omar Gaber features in Basel’s draw against 1860 München
Basel’s Egyptian right back Omar Gaber has featured in his team’s friendly match against 1860 München on Friday.
Gaber started today for Basel against 1860 München, in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw. The Belgian side managed to open the scoring in the 66th minute, before 1860 München managed to equalise in the final 10 minutes.
The friendly match was part of the team’s pre-season program ahead of the kick-off of the official matches, which will see Basel host Sion in the league opener.
The Egyptian international made his Basel debut a few days earlier in a friendly match which saw the Swiss champions lose 4-2 to St. Gallen.
The 24-year-old has joined Basel recently from Zamalek on a four-year deal in May to become the fourth Egyptian to join the team in the last four years after Ahmed Hamoudi, Mohamed Elneny and Mohamed Salah.
