Mortada Mansour: Leekens is close to Zamalek

Zamalek SC chairman Mortada Mansour has announced that former Belgium and Tunisia national team manager George Leekens may be the Whites’ next hire.

Zamalek have accepted Mohamed Helmy’s resignation following the team’s loss in the CAF Champions League against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Leekens is one of two possible candidates for this position; the other being Argentine manager Enzo Trossero, as was revealed by Mortada Mansour to Sada El-Balad channel.

George Leekens has been in charge of the Belgium and Tunisia’s national teams in addition to a number of clubs, such as Belgium’s Gent and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal.

If Leekens does sign a contract with the White Castle, he would become their sixth manager this season after Jesualdo Ferreira, who is now managing Qatari outfits Al Sadd SC, Marcos Paquetá, Ahmed Hossam “Mido”, Alex McLeish, and Mohamed Helmy.

A medical student who loves football. Any free time I have is usually dedicated to football. I support Al Ahly and Real Madrid (Al Ahly comes first of course). Contrary to popular belief, I believe that females enjoy football as much as males do; I am a living proof :D Proud that I am writing for King Fut.
