Rio 2016: Mohamed Essam advances to round of 32 in Fencing



Egypt’s Mohamed Essam has beaten his opponent in the round of 64 of Fencing competition in Rio 2016 Olympics to advance to the next round.

Essam faced Brazil’s Henrique Marques in the round of 64, and managed to win by 15 points to 8 in the favour of the Brazilian in order to reach the round of 32.

Mohamed Essam is now set to face Alexander Massialas of USA in Fencing’s round of 32 later on Sunday.

It’s worth noting that Essam has joined fellow Egyptians Alaa Abou El-Kassem, London 2012 Olympics silver medal winner, and Tarek Eyad.
