Sam Morsy set to join Barnsley FC on loan
Sam Morsy is set to seal a loan move to Barnsley from fellow English Championship side Wigan Athletic.
Egypt’s Sam Morsy is set to finalise a year long loan move to Barnsley FC from Championship rivals Wigan Athletic.
Morsy – who wasn’t included in any of Wigan’s five opening 2016/17 Championship match day squads – will become the second Egyptian to play for Barnsley, after Mido ended his playing career at the club.
Despite playing a key role in Wigan’s automatic qualification to the Championship as 2015/16 League One winners, it seems the Egyptian is no longer in manager Gary Caldwell’s plans despite joining the club less than eight months ago.
Egypt manager Hector Cuper has called up the midfielder for the Pharaohs’ upcoming friendly matches against Guinea (August 30th) and South Africa (September 6th) as the team prepares for the final phase of qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
