Hector Cuper announces squad for Congo clash

’s manager Hector Cuper announced the Pharaohs’ 24-man squad prior to their clash with in the first round of the 2018 Russia qualifiers.

The Argentinian manager has included nine foreign-based players, as well as eight players from Zamalek and four from Al Ahly in his camp that will take place between October 1 and 7, before facing Congo on October 9 in Brazzaville.

Egypt Squad:

Goalkeepers: Essam El-Hadary, Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed El-Shennawy, Ali Lotfy

Defenders: Mohamed Abdel-Shafy, Ahmed Hegazy, Ahmed Dweidar, Ali Gabr, Islam Gamal, Hamada Tolba, Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Elmohamady, Omar Gaber

Midfielders: Abdallah El Said, Ramadan Sobhi, Mahmoud Kahraba, Ibrahim Salah, Mostafa Fathi, Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny, Tarek Hamed, Mahmoud Trezeguet

Attackers: Ahmed Hassan Koka, Bassem Morsy

Youssef Wael is a massive Al Ahly and Manchester United supporter from Cairo, Egypt. One of the few Egyptians who never really wanted to have a career in football, just played it as a hobby. Wael also played squash for 7 years.
