PSG’s Serge Aurier faces jail time after attacking police officer

and Paris Saint Germain’s right back, , has been sentenced to two months in jail after attacking a police officer.

The 23-year old was convicted on Monday of elbowing a police officer in the throat after being ordered to take a breath test outside a nightclub on 30 May. Aurier has been fined €600, which is subject to increase based on the decision of the appeal he filed.

The player’s lawyer said, “We’re appealing. Mr Aurier contests the findings. He’s not guilty and must be acquitted,”

In spite of the charges, Aurier will be able to travel with to Bulgaria to face Ludogorets Razgrad on Wednesday in the Champions League.
