Kenyan Davis Omweno chosen to referee ACL Final

Confederation of African Footbal () announced that Kenyan referee Davis Omweno was appointed to referee the African Champions League final between and .

Omweno, who never refereed a match for Sundowns before, led two matches in which Zamalek were part of. The first match was in 2014 Champions League as the White Knights were facing Zambian side Nakana which ended 0-0. The second time was in this year’s tournament during Zamalek’s match against MO Béjaïa, as the Egyptian side won 2-0 in Cairo in the round of 16th.

He also led two matches for Al Ahly in the same tournament in addition to Egypt’s national team friendly match against South Africa which Egypt lost 1-0.

The first leg of the final match will be on the 15th of October.
