Héctor Cúper not surprised by Ghana and Uganda draw
Egypt head coach Héctor Cúper has stated saying he is not surprised after Uganda snatched a draw in the first round of the 2018 World Cup qualifications away at Ghana.
The Black Stars were tamed by the Cranes yesterday in Tamale after heroic performances from Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s men, especially Mamelodi Sundowns keeper Denis Onyango.
“I think the draw is normal. Football has changed and it only recognizes the effort given in the pitch,” Cúper was quoted by the Egyptian Football Association’s website.
“I don’t care about the other results, I am concentrated on my team and on our upcoming match against Congo.
“We are aiming to win against Congo to get the three points and top of our group,” the Argentine concluded.
Egypt play their first match in the group stages of the 2018 World Cup qualifications against Congo in Brazzaville, the game is scheduled to be played on Sunday, 9th of October at 16:30 CLT.
