Billiat lauds Pitso Mosimane’s methods ahead of Zamalek tie

Sundowns forward, Khama Billiat has heaped praise on the coaching methods of Pitso Mosimane ahead of the second leg of the CAF Champions League final in Alexandria.

The Zimbabwean forward was speaking to South African media, as the team intensifies preparations for Sunday’s final. He acknowledged the experience and character of Mosimane. “Pitso is experienced enough, and knows we cannot be too excited and we must continue to work.

We haven’t changed the way we do things before games- watching videos, match analysis, corrections of the last game- this shows his character, that he’s not someone that gets carried away with what the situation tells him.”

He urged his teammates maintain the same frame of mind as their coach. “And as players we owe him that same level of mentality. He’s told us to keep our minds and be grounded about it until we do the job.”

About the intimidating home support that Zamalek enjoy, Billiat said, “Obviously we will come up against things that are out of our control but we have to be honest with ourselves- this is not a game where we can make excuses, it’s a game where we need to go through anything that comes our way.”

Khama Billiat was voted the best player in the South African league last season and has been instrumental in Mamelodi Sundown’s accomplishment of reaching the CAF Champions League final.
