Khama Billiat glad to have stayed with Mamelodi Sundowns

Zimbabwean forward, Khamat Billiat, is glad that he stayed with Mamelodi Sundowns amid CAF Champions League final win against Zamalek SC.

Cairo poles, Al Ahly and Zamalek, were in pursuit of the services of the 26-year-old forward but were scared by Sundowns after slapping a 2.5 million Euros price tag on their star.

He also caught the eyes of European scouts who were willing to offer the Brazillians good money for him. Billiat couldn’t move as Sundowns had qualified to the group stages of the Champions League.

“It’s great feeling to be an African champion,” Billiat said. “I think that I played my cards right by staying here. I am glad that I stayed. But I don’t know what will happen in the future. You never know what will happen in football. You just need to play your best football because you never know when an opportunity will come.”

Zamalek defeated Sundowns 1-0 in the away leg of the champions league final in failing to overturn the 3-0 loss in the home leg in Pretoria, South African and losing the trophy by aggregate.

Youssef Wael is a massive Al Ahly and Manchester United supporter from Cairo, Egypt. One of the few Egyptians who never really wanted to have a career in football, just played it as a hobby. Wael also played squash for 7 years.
