Egypt draw Zambia and Mali in U-20 Africa Cup of Nations



Egypt drew Zambia, Mail and Guinea in group A of the 20th edition of the U-20 African Cup of Nation to be held in Zambia from the 26th of February till the 12th of March 2017.

After being seeded in pot 3, Egypt drew hosts, Zambia, alongside Mali and Guinea avoiding 2015 runners up, Senegal, who have been drawn in group B with Sudan, Cameroon and South Africa.

Egypt failed to qualify for the 2015 Africa U-20 Championship held in Senegal after losing 3-2 on aggregate to Congo in the final qualifying round.

The Young Pharaohs returned for the 2017 tournament after beating Angolan counterparts 5-0 on aggregate in the third round of qualifiers.


Youssef Wael is a massive Al Ahly and Manchester United supporter from Cairo, Egypt. One of the few Egyptians who never really wanted to have a career in football, just played it as a hobby. Wael also played squash for 7 years.
