Kahraba victorious over compatriot Hamoudi in Saudi Crown Prince Cup

Egyptian duo Ahmed Hamoudi and Mahmoud Kahraba faced off against each other as Ittihad Jeddah beat hosts Al Batin in the quarter finals of the Saudi Crown Prince Cup.

Hamoudi was included in Al Batin’s starting lineup, while Kahraba come off the bench in the 69th minute of the match.

Al Batin reached the semifinals after beating Al-Taawoun 2-0 in the previous round, while Ittihad Jeddah knocked-out Al-Qadisya 8-7 on penalties.

The first half was uneventful with both teams having a slow start to the match. Both teams came close to scoring but were unlucky as the stalemate continued.

In the second half, Al Batin’s goalkeeper gave away a penalty after bringing down Ittihad winger Fahad Al-Muwallad, who successfully converted it to the only goal of the night.

Following the goal, the tempo of the game went up as Al-Batin looked for an equalizer. In the 69th minute, Mahmoud Kahraba came on for Abdulaziz Al-Aryani, but he was unable to double Ittihad’s lead. Ahmed Hamoudi came close to scoring in the final minutes of the match, but his ball was cleared before crossing the goal line.

Ittihad Jeddah will play the winner between Mohamed Abdel-Shafy’s Al Ahli and Hajr in the semi-final of the Saudi Crown Prince Cup.
