Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Keagen Dolly, told reporters that winning the CAF African Champions League was purely hard work and dedication.

Dolly refused to call winning the Champions League as luck in spite of Sundowns being knocked out in the preliminary round of the championship by AS Vita Club who were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player.

Dolly told supersport TV,”With the hard work and the mentality we have had since the start of this campaign, people might say we were lucky to get into the pool phase, but now we have won it and I think we deserve it.”

“It was very difficult, Zamalek is a good team, we respect them. They have good individuals. We knew we would have to work hard.”

Zamalek defeated Sundowns 1-0 in the away leg of the champions league final in Egypt failing to overturn the 3-0 loss in the home leg in Pretoria, South Africa and losing the trophy by aggregate.
