Maqassa were able to come from behind to beat Ismaily SC 2-1 in the sixth round of the Egyptian League.

A vibrant start by Ismaily led to the Daraweesh scoring the first goal in the 5th minute through Emmanuel Banahene. However, Maqassa quickly settled into the game slowly creating more chances.

In the 23rd minute, Maqassa were awarded a penalty after an Ismaily defender brought down Eric Traore inside the box. Ahmed Abdel Zaher scored from the spot to draw Maqassa level.

The rest of the first half and the second half saw both sides create chances to score the go-ahead goal, but the defenses and goalkeepers prevented them.

In the 94th minute, Paulin Vaovy scored Maqassa’s second goal after the initial free kick hit the crossbar, giving Maqassa another dramatic win after last season’s 3-2 win.

Maqassa’s next game is against Arab Contractors on October 30. Ismaily’s next game is against Smouha on October 31.
