Egypt international Mohamed Salah provided an assist in AS Roma’s 3-1 away win over Sassuolo as they attempt to close the gap with leaders Juventus.

The Giallorossi managed to secure the three points against Sassuolo on Wednesday, as Roma remained two points away of Juventus who managed to secure a 4-1 win against Sampdoria.

AS Roma XI: Szczesny; Florenzi, Manolas, Fazio, Emerson; Strootman, De Rossi; El Shaarawy, Nainggolan, Salah, Dzeko

Sassuolo XI: Consigli; Gazzola, Cannavaro, Acerbi, Peluso; Mazzitelli, Pellegrini; Politano, Defrel, Adjapong; Matri.

AS Roma had a bad start to the match, which resulted in conceding an early gaol as Paolo Cannavaro opened the scoring for Sassuolo after only 13 minutes.

The guests started controlling the game afterwards trying to find an equaliser and get back into the game. They however failed to find the net in the first half, which ended 1-0 in favour of Sassuolo.

Roma’s attitude changed following the break, and they managed to make it 1-1 in the 57th minute when Dzeko converted Salah’s fine pass into the bottom corner of the net.

The Bosnian striker completed his brace and gave Roma the lead in the 76th minute through a penalty to make it 2-1 and keep his side’s chances of staying within two points of Juventus.

Two minutes later, Nainggolan put the game to bed as he scored to make it 3-1 for the visitors, killing any hopes for Sassuolo to get back into the game.

The Giallorossi will face Empoli in gameweek 11 on October 30.

I think “world class performance” is too much.
