Egypt’s national volleyball team won the 2016 Women’s U-23 African Nations Championship after beating Botswana 3-0 on Thursday.

The victory comes one day after Egypt secured one of the two qualifying spots for the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U-23 World Championship set to be held in Slovenia between Aug. 27 and Sept. 3.

Egypt won the gold medal after beating Botswana by straight sets (25-16, 25-10 and 25-19) to continue their perfect run in the second edition of the tournament held in Kenya between Oct. 23 and 27.

They kicked off their campaign by beating hosts Kenya 3-1. The Kenyans won the first set 25-18 before the Egyptians responded by winning three consecutive sets (25-23, 25-20 and 25-18).

In their second game, Egypt smashed Rwanda 3-0 (25-14, 25-17 and 25-21) before easily beating Senegal 3-0 (25-15, 25-6 and 25-16) in their third game.

Egypt had won the title of the first edition of the tournament, which was held in Algeria in 2014, after beating the hosts in their final game.
