Ghana ace David Accam has expressed his readiness to cause a surprise when Ghana Black Stars take on Egypt next month in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.

The Pharaohs host Avram Grant’s men in Alexandria on the 13 of November for the first time since Ghana ended Egypt’s 2014 World Cup dream three years ago.

“It is a very tough game but we have a lot of good players in our team and everyone wants to play in the World Cup. All the players are serious to give their everything for us to win the game,” the Chicago Fire star was quoted by portal Ghanasoccernet.

“Anything can happen in that game because our players are ready and we know we can go there and win.”

Accam is coming off a very fruitful season for his MLS club Chicago Fire, being named Most Valuable Player for the second year running as well as ending up as team’s top scorer with 14 goals across all competitions. Yet, Accam is not yet given game time he deserves with Avram Grant preferring to play Christian Atsu and Jordan Ayew on either side of Asamoah Gyan during the Black Stars’ last qualifier against Uganda.

“Sometimes you have to respect the coach’s decision. They decide what players they need for the game so sometimes I am frustrated but it happens, it’s part of the game but you need to be ready whenever you get called upon.

“I am always ready to play whenever I am called upon, I need to really work hard and push myself to the limit to be able to make it to the first team,” Accam concluded.
