Morsy features in Barnsley’s draw against Bristol city

Sam Morsy‘s Barnsley scored a last minute goal in their 2-2 draw against Bristol City as Marley Watkins and Adam Hammil scored for the South Yorkshire side.

The Tykes started the game with a very good posture and scored their first goal in the 21st minute through Marley Watkins after heading a great cross from Yiadom, to put Barnslely in the lead.

Barnsley’f first half was going to be spectacular as they were rewarded a penalty in the 46th minute, as Sam Winnall was brought down in the box; however, Bristol City’s goalkeeper, Frank Fielding dived low to his left side and saved Winnall’s shot.

After a first half that was full of action, things changed drastically in the second as Bristol City were keen to find the equalizer.

In the 58th minute, Bristol City were rewarded a penalty after Adam Jackson blocked the ball with his hand and was booked. On the other hand, Bristol’s Lee Tomlin found the net to give the equalizer to the visitors.

Five minutes later, Adam Armstrong almost gave the home side the lead but his shot crashed against the cross bar. Yet, it was not until the 76th minute when Chelsea’s loanee Tammy Abraham scored Bristol’s second goal of the night after a decisive pass from Lee Tomlin to tap the ball easily into the net.

As the game was heading to a defeat to the Reds, Adam Hammill cut inside the box and curled the ball into the net to equalize the score in the 91st minute and gives the draw to the home side.

After the draw, Barnsley currently lie in the 12th place in the table with 20 points. The South Yorkshire side is set to face Burton Albion next week in their upcoming Championship encounter.
