Handball: Al Ahly win African Champions League title
After losing last year’s final, Al Ahly snatch their fifth African Champions League title after defeating Tunisian side, Esperance, 26-23 in the final.
The Red Devils, qualified to the final after beating Moroccan side, Wydad Samara 31-23 in the semifinal to face Esperance of Tunisia in the final.
Al Ahly’s manager, Assem Hamed, made sure to keep his promise and bring back the title to the Red Castle after a tough final with the Tunisian side.
The first half ended 15-12 to the Reds as they were able to control the game’s posture. On the other hand, Esperance tried to comeback in the second half and they were very close to end the game in a draw. However, Al Ahly had the upper hand and ended the game with a win 26-23 to secure their fifth ever title.
