Ghana Football Association (GFA) vice-president George Afriyie has sounded his concern regarding the national team’s previous results ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifications.

Ghana failed to collect three points when they hosted Uganda in the opening match of Group E of the 2018 Russia World Cup qualifiers.

Afriyie spoke to Ghanaian radio station Kasapa FM and claimed that he, along with many Ghanaians, are concerned with Ghana’s recent performances.

“It is a big worry, we must admit that the team have been poor recently, and it is a big worry to every Ghanaian,” he said.

Afriyie claimed that the Ghana FA will hold a meeting with national team manager Avram Grant and speak about the team and its performances going forward.

“I agree we need to sit him down and let him know that everyone is worried about the performance of the team recently,” he claimed.

“I have a huge influence when it comes to that, whatever I say could be considered,” concluded Afriyie.

Ghana’s national team will travel to Egypt later this month to face the Pharaohs on November 13th, while Uganda will host Congo.
