Mohamed Elneny’s Arsenal have managed to pull back a two-goal deficit against Bulgarian side Ludogorets to win the game and top group A.

Egypt international Mohamed Elneny came off the bench in the 87th minute and provided a perfect first touch assist to Mesut Özil, who scored the winning goal for the Gunners.

Arsenal’s starting XI: Ospina; Jenkison, Mustafi, Koscienly, Gibbs; Couqelin, Xhaka, Özil; Ramsey, Sanchez, Giroud

Ludogorets starting XI: Borjan; Minev, Moti, Palmino, Natanel; Abel, Dyakov, Cafu, Marcelino, Wanderson; Keseru

Arsenal didn’t have the start they were after, as they were 2-0 behind after just 15 minutes. Ludogorets’ striker Cafu opened the scoreline in the 12th minute, before he assisted Keseru three minutes later, to make it 2-0 for the hosts.

The Gunners responded quickly in the first half after an assist from Mesut Özil, which saw Xhaka scoring his first Champions League goal since 2010 in the 20th minute.

In the 42nd minute, Olivier Giroud made it 2-2 after the Frenchman converted Aaron Ramsey’s cross into the net with a fine header, taking his tally this season to three goals.

Arsenal tried to score the third goal but their attempts couldn’t break through Ludogorets’s defence until Mohamed Elneny came on for Granit Xhaka in the 87th minute.

The Egyptian international brilliantly provided Özil with a wonderful assist to make him one-on-one with the goalkeeper. The German international didn’t hesitate and scored a brilliant late winner for Arsenal.

This win means that Arsenal and PSG are level at the top of the group with 10 points, but the Gunners are ahead on goal difference.
