Ghana and Al Ahli Dubai forward Asamoah Gyan has confirmed that it will be hard for him to be fit in time to face Egypt in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers in 11 days.

The Black Stars captain picked up an injury during his club’s final training session on Tuesday ahead of the league encounter against Hatta.

Gyan was excluded from the team that beat Hatta 6-0 today due to injury, which forced the player to reveal that he’s running out of time to make the Black Stars’ crucial encounter against Egypt.

“It will be very hard to participate in Ghana’s encounter against the Pharaohs on the 13th of November in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers,” Gyan was quoted by UAE portal 24.

“I will undergo tests tomorrow under the supervision of the club’s medical team to find out the extent of my injury and the duration of my time out,” the 30-year-old concluded.

Ghana manager Avram Grant has not yet named his squad to face Egypt although his counterpart Hector Cuper has called up 23 players for the encounter.

Egypt host Ghana on the 13th of November at Alexandria’s Borg El-Arab Stadium with a record-high 75,000 spectators allowed to attend, a number unmatched since the Port Said massacre over 4 years ago.
