Stoke’s Matthew Etherington impressed with Ramadan Sobhi
Ex-Stoke player Matthew Etherington expressed his fascination with Ramadan Sobhi’s performance against Swansea last Monday, expecting a big future for the Egyptian starlet.
Ramadan Sobhi was introduced in Stoke’s game against Swansea after 25 minutes replacing the injured Xherdan Shaqiri and had a big impact on the game which saw The Potters win the game 3-1.
Ramadan was credited for the second goal after he absolutely bamboozled his man before his effort went into the back of the net through a deflection by a Swansea defender.
Matthew Etherington told the Stoke Sentinel newspaper that he is looking forward to seeing what the 19-year-old has to offer. He said, “Obviously he’s got talent, but what I really liked was the work he was doing going the other way.’’
He concluded saying, “He looks like a man capable of creating, but he also worked his socks off for the team. I’m sure Mark Hughes will be delighted with him and I’m sure he’s got a great career ahead of him at Stoke.”
Stoke City next face West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday.
