Momen Soliman has resigned from his post as manager of Zamalek after a series of disappointing performances.

Momen Soliman has resigned only three months after succeeding Mohamed Helmy, who resigned following Zamalek’s loss against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League group stages.

The 42-year-old was in charge for 11 matches in all competitions, with an overall record of 8 wins, one draw and two losses, as well as leading Zamalek to win Egypt Cup after beating arch-rivals Al Ahly 3-1 in the final.

The former Assiouty and Entag El-Harby manager also led the White Castle to their first Champions League final in 14 years, which they lost to Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 on aggregate.

Momen Soliman becomes the sixth manager to leave Zamalek in the last year, after Jesualdo Ferreira, Marcus Paquetá, Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido’Alex McLeish and Mohamed Helmy.
