Elneny remains on bench in 1-1 draw against Tottenham
Mohamed Elneny’s Arsenal came out with a 1-1 draw in the north London derby, as the Gunners failed to secure a place on top of the Premier League.
Arsenal’s starting XI: Cech; Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscienly, Monreal; Couqelin, Xhaka, Ozil; Walcott; Iwobi, Sanchez
Tottenham’s starting XI: Loris; Walker, Wimmer, Vertonghen, Rose; Wanyama, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen, Son; Kane
The derby started with high inensity and pressure from both sides, but the Gunners were the dominant side in the first half creating lots of chances and managing the midfield area with their own style of passes, while the Spurs managed to create two huge chances but Kane failed to convert them.
In the 42nd minute the drought came to an end as Ozil’s perfect cross was converted by Wimmer into his own net to make it 1-0 to Arsenal.
The second half saw a more aggressive Spurs side, with Dembele winning a penalty in the 52nd minute, which Harry Kane converting it into the net.
The game continued with high intensity from both sides as both of them managed to defend well and create chances but without any effecient outcome, which saw both teams getting a point out of this match.
