Hector Cúper: I am not a magician

Hector Cúper has spoken out about the injures in his team before Egypt’s crucial encounter with Ghana, adding that he believes in the team as a whole.

The Pharaohs will host Ghana on November 13 at Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria in the second round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Egypt lead Group E with three points, two points ahead of 2nd place Ghana, after the latter drew against Uganda 0-0 at home, while the Pharaohs beat Congo 2-1.

“I am not a magician. There is no one way to win. I trust my players who are determined to clinch the three points,” The Argentine manager said in the press conference held on Sunday.

“I can’t drop the players who played the 6-1 game because of that. I trust my squad and we are confident in our abilities to win.

“Ghana is a big team but the 6-1 result is exceptional and rarely happens in football,” Cúper added.

Hector Cúper added that he does not pay attention to any statements made by the Ghanaians, and that his focus is only on the game.

“The players and the fans are the reason behind my confidence. I don’t care about any statements made by the Ghanaians and our focus is on the meeting with them,” Cúper said

“Injuries make me sad but I trust the substitutes. I believe in the team as a whole, not individuals.

“I am upset about Mostafa Fathi’s injury and we will check on Koka when he arrives but Ramadan Sobhi is fit for the game,” The 60-year-old concluded.
