Hector Cuper reveals his preparations ahead of Ghana’s clash
Egypt National Team manager Hector Cuper has insisted on the importance of the psychological preparation of the players before they host Ghana next Sunday.
The Pharaohs are hosting the Black Stars on the 13th of November at Borg El-Arab stadium in the second round of the final group stages of 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Egypt are on the top of group E with three points after beating Congo in the first game, while Ghana are set in the second place with a single point from a scoreless draw with Uganda.
“Everyone is in a good physical state and we only miss Mahmoud Kahraba and Ahmed Hassan Koka. It is great to have such a group of great players under your management,” Cuper spoke to “ONSport”.
“We understand the importance of the game to the Egyptians, the players are focused on getting the victory and winning the three points,” the former Valencia coach added.
“We need to be calm. I want to relieve the pressure on my players so I let them have some fun. They understand the responsibility on their shoulders and show great desire to win the game,” Cuper said.
The Argentine manager believed that Gyan Asmaoh’s absence will affect the Black Stars but they will be able to make up for him with their skillful squad.
“It is always sad when you lose one of your players and Gyan is a very important player. Ghana will lose much with his absence but they have have a strong team and I think their substitutes can compensate any player,” Cuper concluded.
