Ghana midfielder Badu not worried about Egypt’s Mohamed Salah

Ghana midfielder Agyemang Badu reveals that his team are not worried about Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and won’t be making any special preparations for him.

Agyemang Badu has revealed that Ghana won’t be intimidated by Mohamed Salah and they’re not worried about the threat that he poses to their defence.

“Everyone is saying Salah!Salah!Salah! but I don’t think he is the only player for Egypt, they also have other players,” he said.

“He is a good player but we equally have good defenders who can match up with him. We all play in Italy and most of our players know him.”

The on-form AS Roma winger has been performing really well for both club and country as he scored against Congo in Egypt’s first match in the qualifiers and has earned praise from Roma manager Luciano Spalletti after scoring his first Serie A hattrick against Bologna.

The fellow Serie A midfielder, Badu, who applies his trade at Udinese believes that Ghana should be threatened by the speedy winger saying: “I don’t think is will be a threat to us because we will also be going out with the aim to win as well. We just have to stay focus and take our chances on the day.”

It’s worth noting that Agyemang Badu has been part of the Ghana U-20 team that managed to win the 2009 FIFA World Cup in Egypt, where they beat Brazil 4-3 on penalties in Cairo International Stadium.

Egypt are set to host the Black Stars on Sunday in Borg El-Arab Stadium, Alexandria with the Pharaohs being top of their 2018 World Cup qualifying group after beating Congo in their first match.
