Egypt’s Karim Hafez played the full 90 minutes as Racing Club de Lens drew 1-1 with Auxerre in the 15th fixture of French Ligue 2 on Friday.

Against Auxerre, Hafez started in his traditional left-back position, as opposed to the last match against AC Ajaccio in which he started on the right side of defense.

The first half was dull until Lens’ striker Cristian Lopez managed to break the deadlock in the 40th minute as he slotted the ball past Auxerre’s keeper.

Both teams failed to score further goals until the referee blew the half time whistle with Lens holding to their 1-0 lead.

Auxerre managed to score an equaliser late in the second half as Gaëtan Courtet managed to send the ball home, making it 1-1 with ten minutes to full time.

Following the draw, Lens moved up to the fifth position in the league table with 23 points from 15 matches.

Mohammed Salama is a 20-year-old who fell in love with football since Egypt's AFCON final match against Ivory Coast! Strangely enough an Al Ahly and Al Masry fan locally. In addition, he's a hardcore Bayern Munich supporter.
