The board of directors at Aswan SC has accepted the resignation of coach Emad El-Nahas, the club announced on Thursday.

El-Nahas resigned from his post as the team’s manager after a run of poor results in the Egyptian Premier League. The resignation came few hours after Aswan’s 3-2 loss to newly-promoted side Sharkia, who earned their first victory of the season.

Aswan are now fourth from bottom in the league standings after collecting only five points from nine matches.

The successor of El-Nahas is yet to be announced by the club, with their next fixture scheduled for Monday against league leaders Misr El-Maqassa.

The former Al Ahly defender had guided Aswan to promotion to the Premier League in the 2014/15 season and helped them avoid relegation in their first season back in Egypt’s top-flight.

A medical student who loves football. Any free time I have is usually dedicated to football. I support Al Ahly and Real Madrid (Al Ahly comes first of course). Contrary to popular belief, I believe that females enjoy football as much as males do; I am a living proof :D Proud that I am writing for King Fut.
