OFFICIAL: Alaa Abdel-Aal resigns as ENPPI coach

ENPPI’s board of directors has accepted the resignation of coach Alaa Abdel-Aal, the club announced on Friday.

Abdel-Aal, who joined ENPPI on a one-and-a-half year deal in April, resigned after a run of poor results with the petroleum club.

The resignation came after ENPPI’s 2-1 defeat to Arab Contractors in gameweek 9 of the league. The club now sit 12th in the league standings on 10 points after nine games.

The board expressed their appreciation of Abdel-Aal’s efforts with the team over the past period in a statement issued on their official website. They are yet to announce Abdel-Aal’s successor with ENPPI’s next match scheduled for Tuesday against Wadi Degla, who sit 11th in the league table.

The former Dakhleya coach revealed that he has already received offers from a number of clubs, including Dakhleya, Sharkia and Aswan. Abdel-Aal hinted during an interview with ON Sports satellite channel that he might take over at Sharkia, who are looking for a new coach following the departure of Tarek Yehia.

Abdel-Aal’s resignation came one day after Emad El-Nahas resigned from his post as Aswan manager following their loss against Sharkia.
