Egypt international Ahmed Elmohamady played the full 90 minutes as Hull City suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Hull City’s XI: Marshall; Elmohamady, Dawson, Davies, Tymon; Snodgrass, Livermore, Mason, Clucas; Henriksen; Mbokani

Sunderland’s XI: Pickford; Van Aanholt, Kone, Djilobodji, Jones; McNair, Denayer, Ndong, Watmore, Anichebe; Defoe

The Tigers controlled possession in the early stages of the first half but they were unable to threaten Sunderland’s goal, while the Black Cats looked more dangerous.

The hosts went into the break with a 1-0 lead after a strike from Jermain Defoe put Sunderland in front in the 34th minute.

The guests continued their poor display in the second half as they conceded a second goal in the 62nd minute when Victor Anichebe fired past Marshall to make it 2-0.

Six minutes to full time, Anichebe completed his brace as he smashed the ball into the back of the net after an assist from Jermain Defoe. Sunderland’s Papy Djilobodji was sent off after receiving his second booking in the last minute before the final whistle as his side secured a 3-0 victory over Hull City.
