Elneny: I am happy that Al Ahly rejected me
Mohamed Elneny spoke to DMC Sports about Al Ahly releasing him, saying that he is happy that he got rejected by the Egyptian giants.
The 24-year-old started his career with Egypt’s giants Al Ahly, before the Red Devils released him to join Arab Contractors, where he caught the eye of Swiss side FC Basel.
“They [ Al Ahly ] told me that I am not good enough,” Elneny answered when he was asked about why did Al Ahly release him.
“I am happy that I got rejected, I might have not been at Arsenal if I wasn’t.
“My father was very upset, but I told him that I will make him proud,” Elneny added.
