AS Roma manager, Luciano Spalletti, took to the media to defend his decision of substituting Mohamed Salah in Roma’s defeat against Atalanta.

Spalletti substituted Salah after one hour of decent display in the Gillarossi’s 2-1 defeat gainst Atalanta in the Seria A. He then told reporters why he substituted the Egyptian winger.

Spalleti said,” I had to substitute him. He was tired and his performance was going to eventually deteriorate if I hadn’t subbed him. We took the right decision taking him off.”

“We weren’t able to move the ball in the opposition’s midfield which resulted in our loss. I had to substitute my players in an effort to go on goal more.”

Mohamed Salah gave Atalanta’s manager a hard time as when asked if he started the game cautiously against a hard opponent, Gasperini stated, “Not at all, we played our game very well in the beginning, we suffered from Salah’s breakthroughs but nothing else.”

Decent display? Salah was clear through on goal twice and scuffed it both times. His speed is deadly but i wish he would be more poised, he would score 30 a year as he is unstoppable with his speed and his willingness to run and work hard.

if he was a little bit more intelligent on the pitch et more a killer in front the goal, he would play for real madrid or barcelona and he would postulate for FiFA ballon d’or
