Egyptian coach Hassan Shehata has been tipped as a possible replacement for Avram Grant, the current Black Stars manager, according to Ghanaian news reports.

After drawing 0-0 to Uganda at home and losing 2-0 to Egypt in Alexandria in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, reports are suggesting that Grant may be let go sooner rather than later.

With the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) coming up in January, the Ghana FA is reportedly looking at bringing in Shehata, who led Egypt to an unprecedented treble, winning the AFCON in 2006, 2008 and 2010.

Shehata last coached Arab Contractors, before leaving early on during the 2015/16 season. He currently analyses the Egyptian Premier League on DMC satellite channel.

The Black Stars, who have been without wins in the last five games with Grant as manager, are on the verge of not qualifying for the World Cup as they currently sit third in their qualifiers group.

They were drawn in group D of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations along with Egypt, Mali and Uganda.
