Egypt international Omar Gaber was an unused substitute for Basel on Wednesday evening, as the hosts could only draw 0-0 with PFC Ludogorets Razgrad.

Ludogorets XI: Stojanov; Palomino; Moti; Pimienta; Cicinho; Wanderson; Adrianantenaina; Dyakov; Keseru; Misidjan; Cafu.

Basel XI: Vaclik; Balanta; Traore; Suchy; Lang; Zuffi; Delgado; Xhaka; Elyounoussi; Bjarnason; Doumbia.

Both sides went into the game knowing that although their Champions League campaigns were over, a win would secure Europa League knockout football in 2017.

In a largely uneventful first half, Argentine midfielder Delgado forced the first real save from Stojanov with an ambitious effort from a tight angle.

Basel appeared to be the side taking more initiative in finding the first goal, and Luca Zuffi almost made it happen but again Stojanov was equal to the effort.

In the second half, Romania international Keseru was responsible for Ludogorets’ first clear chance from a set piece, however his shot went wide of the goal.

The hosts would continue to create chances, however neither side were able to break the deadlock as the game finished 0-0.

The result means that both sides are on two points going into the final group game, and while Basel have the superior goal difference they are currently behind Ludogorets on head to head results, due to away goals.

The final group games see Ludogorets away at PSG, while Basel take on Arsenal at home, in which they may fancy their chances as they have a strong record against English teams. Basel will need to pick up more points than Ludogorets in order to progress to the Europa League.
