Sundowns turn down Egyptian offers for Leonardo Castro

Leonardo Castro

Mamelodi Sundowns have turned down several Egyptian and Albanian offers for the team’s striker Leonardo Castro.

The CAF Champions League winners, Mamelodi Sundowns have received a number of offers for the highly-rated Colombian striker Leonardo Castro.

However, according to the player’s representative all those offers were turned down by Sundowns’ board, as the team is looking to keep all their superstars.

“A player like Castro is probably the target for many clubs, but at the moment we’ve only had offers from Egypt and Albania,” Castro’s representative said.

“Those offers were turned down by Mamelodi Sundowns, as Leo still has one more year with the club and finishes his contract in June 2018,” he concluded.

Castro who has been sidelined since August after sustaining an ankle injury, has made it back to the team’s squad in the previous 2 matches.

It is also worth mentioning that the 27-year-old Colombian has been an integral part of the Champions League winning team last season.

Mohammed Salama is a 20-year-old who fell in love with football since Egypt's AFCON final match against Ivory Coast! Strangely enough an Al Ahly and Al Masry fan locally. In addition, he's a hardcore Bayern Munich supporter.
