Al Ahly regains first place in the table after defeating Al Nasr Lel Taa’deen with three second-half goals in the 11th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The first half ended in a goalless draw despite many attempts from the Red Devils. 12 minutes into the first-half, Nigeria’s Junior Ajayi was very close to open the scoresheet for the visitors with a powerful shot, but it was blocked by the post. On the other hand, Al Nasr’s first threat came in the 27th minute through Abdelaziz Emam’s free kick shot that went wide away.

In the 37th minute, Al Ahly’s Amro Gamal almost scored his first goal of the season after a precise cross from Mohamed Hany, but Al Nasr’s goalkeeper pushed the ball away with a wonderful save. A minute before the end of the first-half, the assistant referee called off Abdallah Elsaid’s offside goal after a late pass from Momen Zakaria. Al Ahly continued their goalless first-half streak as they have managed to score only 4 goals in the first-half this season.

In the second-half, Al Nasr were inches away from their first goal ever against Al Ahly after Hisham Abdelhamid’s free kick was denied by Ekramy’s post in the 55th minute. However, five minutes later, Al Ahly were awarded a penalty after the ball touched Haitham Elfeil’s hand inside the box, where Walid Soliman managed to break the deadlock and score the first goal form the spot.

The Red Devils added their second goal in the 70th minute through Junior Ajayi with a great header from Walid Soliman’s spectacular cross. A goal and an assist were not enough for Soliman who added another goal in the 84th minute after dribbling past three Al Nasr’s players, shooting the ball from outside the box and claiming his Man of the match award.

Al Ahly maintain the summit of the table with 29 points and two away from followers, Misr El-Maqassa. The Red Devils will face Sharkia on Wednesday in their upcoming Premier League clash.
