Egypt international Mohamed Salah has been included in FourFourTwo’s Best 100 Players in the World in 2016, where he has been placed in the 95th place.

Salah’s performances for Roma and the national team have not gone unnoticed with the 24-year-old player moving up five spots from last year when he was placed at 100.

During his loan period at AS Roma, Salah scored 14 goals in 34 league games helping them finish the 2015/16 season in third place behind Juventus and Napoli. So far this season, he has scored eight goals in 14 games helping Roma move closer to leaders Juventus.

His performances for the national team, including a vital away goal against Nigeria in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, as well as a goal and assist against each of Congo and Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers have also been outstanding.

Salah is not the only African in the list. Morocco’s and Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech has been included in the 97th place as he accounted for 35 per cent of the goal of his previous club Twente.

Napoli’s and Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly has been placed at 89th place for his contribution to Napoli’s best defensive record since they last won the Scudetto in 1990.

Salah will hope to help Roma to a derby win against Lazio on Saturday, Dec. 4.
