Smouha and Petrojet played out an entertaining 2-2 draw on Tuesday afternoon, in the 12th week of the Egyptian Premier League.

Mohamed Ramadan scored his side’s first goal after less than two minutes, as Petrojet came storming out of the gates.

17 minutes later, Mostafa Shebeita doubled the lead, with the visitors’ back line in disarray.

However, the momentum shifted when Smouha were awarded a penalty in the 22nd minute, which was converted by Mahmoud Sayed.

Five minutes before the half-time whistle, Helmy Toulan’s men were awarded a second penalty, and Ahmed Hassan Mekky duly converted the spot-kick to pull his side on level terms.

Even though there were plently of chances to score the winning goal in the second interval, both teams failed to do so as the game ended 2-2.

Smouha’s next game is against Ittihad Alexandria on December 3, while Petrojet visit ENPPI a day later as both sides aim to keep their title ambitions alive.
