Gabon Football Federation have appointed Jose Antonio Camacho as their new manager signing a two-year contract that runs until 2018.

The 61-year-old, who had stints at Osasuna, Benfica and Real Madrid, has signed a two-year deal to succeed Jorge Costa, who was sacked last month.

The Spaniard has also a record at an international level, managing Spain and most recently China.

The former left-back now looks to work with Gabon in their preparations for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held at home soil.

Jose Camacho’s first competitive match will be the AFCON opener against Guinea-Bissau, as the hosts were drawn with Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau.
