The top three squash world rankings spots have been taken by Egyptian ladies for the first time in history in the PSA women’s December rankings.

Nour El Sherbini, 21, maintained her spot as World No.1. Meanwhile, Raneem El Welily, who topped the World Rankings at the end of 2015, has clinched the second spot after her recent triumph in Wadi Degla Open against current World No.3 Nouran Gohar.

The 27-year-old snatched the second spot from England’s Laura Massaro, who dropped down two places and is now World No.4.

Omneya Abdel Kawy joined her Egyptian compatriots in the top 10 list, as the Egyptian lady is in eighth spot in the rankings.

It’s worth noting that this is the first time since 1996 that three ladies from same country take the first three spots, after the Australian trio Michelle Martin, Sarah Fitz-Gerald and Liz Irving.
