Speaking exclusively to, former Arsenal winger and current coach Robert Pires praised the Gunners’ Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny, following a live talk show held in Bahrain.

The talk show was the first of many hosted by Bahraini-based sports events company Stage33, which aims to bring football legends closer to their fans in the Middle East.

Speaking exclusively to KingFut, Arsenal legend Robert Pires, 43, voiced his admiration of the Egyptian midfielder.

“Mohamed Elneny; he’s a great player. He’s interesting because he is a clearer,” the French winger said.

Pires continued his praising of the 24-year-old Egypt international by highlighting his physique as ‘amazing’.

“He has a good technique, physically he is amazing, and yeah I think he can help Arsenal, he can help in the midfield,” Pires, who holds 79 caps for France continued.

“When he plays with Coquelin or Xhaka we can see the good combination; good duo. So yeah, I like Mohammed Elneny,” he concluded.

The event also saw the French star take part in a trivia game teaming up with two spectators playing against the president of the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.

The fans also had a chance to ask him questions and hear his responses, such as his preferred five-a-side from a pool of former players that he had played with for Arsenal and France. His selections were: Fabien Barthez, Marcel Desailly, Patrick Vieira, Zinedine Zidane and Arsenal’s Thierry Henry (as opposed to Henry with France).

One of the questions asked was about his favorite Arsenal player to which he diplomatically replied that Arsenal is not about individuals, but rather a team spirit.

However, he did highlight he would have liked to play alongside Chilean forward, Alexis Sanchez, Germany’s playmaker Mesut Ozil, and Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla.
