Mohamed Shawky joins Wadi Degla’s coaching staff
Former Al Ahly and national football team midfielder Mohamed Shawky has officially joined Wadi Degla coaching staff to assist Mido in his new mission.
In his first coaching experience, Shawky was appointed coach assistant and will be helping Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido’ in leading the Maadi-based club.
‘Mido’ was recently assigned to coach Wadi Degla following the departure of Patrice Carteron after a bad start in the league. Shawky and Mido played together in the English Premier League for The Boro, in addition to Egypt’s national team.
The ex-holding midfielder played for different local and international clubs which included joining Middlesbrough in 2007 and a short adventure in Turkey with Kayserispor. In his final career years, Shawky played in Malaysia, Iraq and finally settled in Egypt playing for Arab Contractors.
