Ceramica Cleopatra executive director has revealed that his club will quit the Egyptian second division after some controversial refereeing decisions during their game against Tersana.

Ceramica Cleopatra lost 2-0 to Tersana in the Egyptian second division, which took place on Tuesday.

Cleopatra were 1-0 down when referee Sobhi El-Amrawy wrongly disallowed their equaliser for offside, and awarded their opponents two penalties, which were both converted.

The club said on their website that former Tersana administrative staff and player Medhat Abdel-Aziz was hired as the match commissioner, in addition to the presence of referee Fahim Omar as current administrator in Tersana.

It’s worth mentioning that Cleopatra is the third club to forfeit the league in Egypt in the recent days after Egyptian Premier League sides Zamalek and Ismaily.

Ceramica Cleopatra are currently 8th in the Egyptian second division, ten points behind leaders El-Nasr, while Tersana sit 15th in the league.
