Mido: Ibrahimovic and I almost killed each other
Wadi Degla coach, Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido’, took a throw back on his time with Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Ajax in 2003.
Ibrahimovic also talked before about his ex-teammate and said that he misses having him around. The “crazy duo” as described by the current Manchester United striker, were friends on and off the pitch.
In his autobiography, I Am Zlatan, the player explained the clashes that happened between him and ‘Mido’ in locker rooms, which involved a pair of scissors.
“We were like animals. Each one of use 190 cm tall with good physical strength,” Mido said to El Hayah TV channel. “We had a football quarrel and because both of us were a bit tough we clashed and almost killed each other.”
“We were 18 at the time, so 10 minutes later things were back to normal.” The young manager said that he and Ibrahimovic are still friends to this day.
