Al Masry see off Petrojet to continue winning streak
Al Masry have continued their winning streak as they beat Petrojet 2-1 in the 14th round of the Egyptian Premier League, to climb into third place in the standings.
Petrojet made a positive start to the game; James Teddy finished from close range to give his team the lead in the sixth minute.
In the 17th minute, Al Masry thought they had equalised through Ahmed Gomaa, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Al Masry were the better side over the first half but failed to take advantage from their chances to score, as the first half ended with Petrojet in the lead.
10 minutes into the second half, Hossam Hassan’s men managed to level the score through Ahmed Kaboria, who met Ahmed Gomaa’s cross with an unstoppable header.
The Port Said outfit completed the comeback 12 minutes later, as Ahmed Gomaa gave his side the lead for the first time in the match.
The rest of the match was uneventful as Al Masry held out until the final whistle, which signaled their fifth win in a row.
The victory sees the Green Eagles climb into third place with 28 points after 14 games, while their opponents remain in fifth with 24 points.
