Egypt’s Mohamed Elneny seems happy and satisfied with his role and achievements with Arsenal, despite fierce competition in the midfield.

Speaking to Arsenal Magazine, Egypt’s international midfielder Mohamed Elneny pointed out that he is totally satisfied with the competition he faces in the midfield in order to find a place in the team’s starting line-up.

“I honestly love the competition for places because it helps me to improve as a player on a personal level,” he said.

“When you look at the players who compete for the places, you see that they are all big names and very good players,” he added.

“This motivates me to fight to be number one in that position,” he continued.

The 24-year-old midfielder made it clear that he will put his maximum effort in order to fight for his place.

“This is an honest competition and all players fight for places in the first team. This applies to me also, especially when you play for a big club like Arsenal,” he said.

“I want to do my best to be in the starting line-up and fight for my place,” he added.

Elneny stressed that he is always ready to play, whether he gets selected or not.

“I don’t have a problem if I start or not. I’m always focused and ready to play. I listen to the manager and I do my best during training,” he stated.

“Whether I play or not is up to the boss but I am always focused and ready to play. I don’t want to disappoint when I’m selected to play,” he pointed out.

The Egyptian International concluded his remarks by stating that the past 11 months were the best of his life.

“I think the past 11 months have been the best of my life and hopefully I will keep getting better and achieve big things with Arsenal,” he concluded.
